A Girls Weekend Recap

{photo via here}

Having a girls weekend was just what I needed. It was a weekend of quality girl time that entailed reminiscing about our Delta Gamma college days {aww such good memories!}, eating lots of good food, treating ourselves to cupcakes, enjoying a bottle of wine, shopping, laughter, enjoying the sun, and most of all enjoying the company of a wonderful friend!

PS: I have discovered a new cupcake shop in town called Caketini and it was wonderful. With my love for cupcakes I was impressed!

Upcoming Celebrations

I am getting giddy for several reasons today:

Miss E had a wonderful week and we have hit the magic 6 week mark where everyone says it gets easier from here.. sleep wise that is! I sure hope so, though I can't complain as she is becoming a good sleeper. Now if we can only get her tummy and gas issues under control as that "fussy hour" is not so fun.

One of my good friends flew in for the weekend to help me out with Miss E and to have our own girls weekend which I greatly appreciate! She is a mom of three handsome little boys, so she is really excited for her own girl time and to escape the frozen tundra! It means so much that she is taking the time to come and spend the weekend with me.

and.. the month of February is only days away which means I have a birthday and what better way to start off a new month than with a birthday?! Which, got me thinking. Since, I love parties and planning them not only for my own life events but for others as well {yes, secretly I would love to be a party stylist/ event planner}that it would be fun to showcase party ideas once a week here on cherry blossoms. After all, who doesn't enjoy a party and love being inspired?!

* I should note..Not only do I have a birthday in February but so does a good friend of mine who happens to be turning 30. She is having a French/ Paris themed birthday party to ring in the special 3-0 and she's treating herself to a week stay in Paris!

Now, if I lived closer I would love to be helping out as I think these would be the perfect invites!

Bath Wraps= Bath Fun!

Bath time has as not only become a favorite bedtime ritual in our home, but I also love how bath time relaxes my baby.

What I also enjoy about bath time is deciding which bath towel we are going to use! Miss E received a lot of cute ones as gifts which has been so nice as I personally think a person can never have enough.

Here are some cute bath wraps that I think are adorable:

I love the modern dot print for the little guys.

I LOVED paperdolls as a little girl so this bath wrap makes me wish it came in my size!
Love the classic look of gingham. Miss E has this wrap in pink and personalized with her name.

Baby Boutique

I should probably be napping while miss E naps but instead I am scouring the internet looking for baby items.

Those that know me well, know that Target is my form of therapy so I was really happy to discover their on line exclusive baby boutique! How I have not discovered this before I am not sure?! One of the wonderful surprises I discovered was this organic cupcake onesie by Kee -Ka.

What is funny is this past July, my husband and I went to San Francisco and I discovered this store called Sprout. Sprout, is an all natural-organic clothing boutique store for children and one of the baby items I purchased was this Kee- Ka cupcake onesie that Target baby boutique now carries.

Another great buy I discovered and had to purchase were these adorable socks by Trumpettetoo. Miss E already has two pairs of Maryjane socks but I couldn't resist these.

If any of you have any favorite children's stores/boutiques or online sites that you enjoy shopping at please leave me a comment as I love discovering new places. Thanks!

Weekend DIY Projects

I received a sewing machine for Christmas as I really want to learn how to sew headbands, burp cloths, and throw pillows for starters. The thing is I don't even know how to sew on a button so I'm pretty sure I have my work cut out for me!

As I was trying to find some easy DIY projects, I came across these two ideas that I thought look fairly easy and are so adorable I had to share!

Mmm... Stroopwafels

On a recent Trader Joes shopping trip I discovered a new favorite snack.. Daelmans Mini Stroopwafels Caramel Bites. They are mini wafers filled with a soft caramel and being 38 calories per wafer this treat does not disappoint.

Up, Up and Away...

Over the past few months we have had some close calls with hot air balloons crashing into our house and last month one landed at the end of our street. I guess their landing destination was a little off.

Here are some shots my husband captured yesterday from our front door.

I told you this was a close call!

Lots to Smile About

{via}

I am not really sure where the days go anymore but this week has been a much better week..

All I know is I have lots to smile about:

I feel as if we are finally getting into somewhat of a routine with Miss E

Miss E will be one month old on Saturday

My sister, is flying in from North Dakota and will be meeting her niece/ goddaughter for the first time today!

One of my really good friends is also coming into town on Saturday and she will be getting to meet Miss E for the first time!

On Sunday, we will be cheering on the runners {especially my sister and a good friend} that are participating in the Rock N' Roll Marathon with dinner to follow at our favorite restaurant!

Cheers to a great weekend!

What I'm Loving This Week

I heart these zebra and giraffe decorative Oreos that are available from sweeties by Kim. Unfortunately, I have baby weight to lose so all dessert is off limits :(

I heart this vintage winged chair. Oh how, I would love to have this chair in my bedroom or living room.

I heart this wooden note pad. Plus, its never to early to think about how to tell your Valentine how much you love them!

Your Own World

For being my first post of 2011, I wanted to share a quote that would fit the vision I want to set out for the new year.

This year I really want to focus on appreciating the little things in life. I am learning more than ever that at the end of the day its those small moments that are really the "big things" in life and its those small moments that bring me a smile at the end of my day.
